Andy and Rebecca Say Ar

I love the fact that if you marry at Priory Hall (the Register Office in Dudley) you get to say Ar for your I do’s…and if that wasn’t enough for a Black Country celebration, we jumped up into an army truck and took in the Zoo via the Priory ruins before heading off to the Pie Factory for dinner.

Please note that there was in fact zero ’jumping’ into the truck it was very much a clamber. Dignity however, was fully maintained.

Andy is my very lovely postman. There - I got that little factoid out of the way - it IS important though, because he is also very lovely Bec’s very lovely postman, and that is how they met. It’s a classic tale of women-spots-man-delivering-post, woman-enquires-about-postman, woman-marries-postman, and at NO POINT during speeches did anyone make the joke about being a first class male. Opportunity missed people!

They married at Priory Hall in Dudley after Bec was delivered by aforementioned army trucks* for reasons I probably should have enquired about, and we trotted around the nearby ruins, took in the (outside of the) iconic Dudley Zoo en route, and ended up at Mad O’Rourke’s Pie Factory for some of the good stuff :) Loved every freaking minute.

I was only needed for a few hours as there are further celebrations planned in the summer (huzzah!) so here’s a sneak peek at a sprinkling from their day…

It probably has a name, but I’m going with ‘army truck’
