Charlotte and Gary at Delbury Hall
Gary and Charlotte married on Sunday in the prettiest surroundings of the walled garden at the Barn at Delbury Hall in Shropshire…
We were crazy lucky with the weather, as after a dull and drizzly ol’ morning, the sun came out a teeny-tiny bit just in time for the I do’s, the sign-here’s and the drink ‘n small food bit before giving up completely and becoming the rainiest of afternoons that no-one (not even the weather forecasts) was expecting. Pfft. I love a bit of rain, and the Barn at Delbury is so spacious and light with its new orangery, we didn’t give any amount of hoots.
It was a lovely catch-up for me too, as I photographed the bride’s sister’s wedding a few years ago, plus Bailey the beagle popping in for a few pics was the not-literal icing on the cake. Obviously. Dogs aren’t cake-toppers; the cake would have to be massive, and it’d probably render the cake less edible. Why would you even consider it, you big silly.
The day was capped off to absolute perfection by the groom’s band. Somehow Gary managed to pull off not only playing his own first dance (Purple Rain if that wasn’t enough of a flex already), serenading the waff with the guitar solo, sneaking in an actual dance with her before finishing the track with the band. Bloody ridiculous. How are other grooms supposed to follow that eh? Tuts loudly.
Up there is a bunch o’ photos from the day, and down there are even more because I don’t know when to stop. Fantastic people, brilliant day, wonderful surroundings and the nicest staff looking after us all. Big big win :)
