Oh July, what a kick-off :)

It’s Independance Day - but not for Nigel and Jo, who’ve done the opposite of that and officially become dependents. Take that America, you bunch of big sillies.

That’s as many references to current affairs (er… football and it being 4th July) as I can be bothered to make. I didn’t even mention the weather yet, and that’s usually my go-to. Maybe I’ve evolved.

Probably not though.

The weather WAS absolutely gorgeous , as was the setting in beautiful Shropshire at the Astbury Golf Club. First time visit from me and it was bloody lovely. A walled garden hosted the outdoor ceremony, with a tipi for the celebrations, the whole set-up is ace and we all had a blast. Huge shout-out to Val, Carol and the whole team there who were all such a smiley, helpful and hardworking bunch. It’s always appreciated when they’re already busy on a hot day and still take time to check that I’ve got a drink or had a bite to eat.

Star of the day was obviously wee Teddy the dog. who slutted his way through pretty much all the guests with his fussable features. If I could’ve got away with tucking him under an arm and legging it across the golf course, I would have done.
